Post Release Crash

I had originally intended on sending this out the week after FOR THE LOVE OF LETTIE released but after releasing the book, I just…crashed. It’s been no secret that the past couple of years have been rough and I had fully intended this year to be my comeback year, but after dad broke his hip in February, it’s been downhill. I go between having a few good days when I can get work done and then bad days when I just want to lay in bed, do nothing, and then get mad at myself for not being able to do anything. It’s difficult to do things I enjoy and even harder to make myself do things I don’t like as much but are necessary. A week after the release of FLL, we were hit with another financial blow and I shut down. I wish I could say I fought it or that I managed to do other, fulfilling things in the meantime, but I didn’t. I took the two-ish weeks to feel whatever I needed to feel and now I’m slowly working to get myself level again.

For those who purchased, read, reviewed, etc. FOR THE LOVE OF LETTIE, thank you! I appreciate the support and the love. The sequel was a long time coming and y’all stuck it out and so far loved it. On the topic of typos and missing words, I will be working on getting that fixed and will hopefully have the new files uploaded by the end of the month. Unfortunately, I tried editing directly in my formatting software and since it lags and updates while I’m in the middle of typing, it apparently eats words. Oops.

I am also working on a short treat for my Lettie and Co. lovers as part of the Hot Wet Queer Summer dash (formerly jam) hosted by Monster Manor. I am not sure I will have it done and edited by the end of September as originally planned but I am working on having it available as soon as possible. I’ve shared a small snippet on socials before but here is a look at the cover:

What’s next?

Another sequel that’s been on hold for awhile is the sequel to THE DRAGON’S KEEPER. Sadly, it will not be coming this year as I haven’t even started on it yet. The tentative plan is to reread TDK, put down my notes and outline while I have it fresh in my head, and then start drafting. I am hoping to start that process next month and maybe I will have it ready by the end of spring/beginning of summer next year. I will try my hardest to have THE DRAGON’S LOVER come out next year!

• Reading: BRED BY THE DRAGON by Lyonne Riley

  • I love Lyonne Riley so much. The writing is fun, the characters are lovable, the smut is smuttin’, and she writes some of my favorite kinks (especially breeding)

• Watching: Spooky season movie fest, High Potential, Halloween Baking Championship, GBBO

  • I have so many movies and shows I watch every year that we have to start our spooky fest a month early to fit as much in as possible. We also love our baking shows and watch several of those this time of year. High Potential is a show I highly recommend if you love detective shows and grumpy/quirky energy between the main leads. The new season just started yesterday.

• Playing: Stardew Valley

  • I started a new farm on my switch. I named it Vino Farm because I’m gonna make so much wine. This my long haul farm that I intend to work on for a while and attempt to master the fishing even though it’s very hard for me on a controller. Usually I play on the laptop and mod it out.
