[Hello! If you’re receiving this newsletter it’s because you either signed up or you nabbed one of my books as a freebie through BookFunnel. It’s totally fine if you unsubscribe but please do not report my newsletter as spam. Thank you!]

I spent the last week of March re-reading THE DRAGON’S KEEPER so I could outline THE DRAGON’S LOVER (which I did!) and I have a couple of takeaways. The first, I do not market this book nearly enough. It’s sweet, cozy, and has some nuggets of worldbuilding that I can really build on in subsequent books. Unfortunately, I get trapped in ranking my books and pushing those at the top rather than all of them. The second, if I were to write TDK now, I would have let it breathe more. I would have leaned more into the worldbuilding and let it flourish. While outlining TDL, I let go of the pressure to keep it novella length. As of now, the outline stands at 28 chapters though that will change when I begin drafting this week because I always cut and readjust as I go. I look forward to expanding the world of Havensfall as a secondary modern fantasy world.

I don’t have too much news this month as I will be elbow-deep in drafting across multiple projects these next few months, but I did want to note that I have decided to reopen my Itch storefront. I’m still iffy about Itch after what happened last year, but as of now, it’s the only platform where I can bundle my books with other authors. I have removed all of the content warnings on Itch but content warnings are always available on my website.
